This image, captured on a plein-air excursion to the St. Albert Botanic Park, was painted in studio. My intent was to keep it fast and loose, like plein-air. There is a bit of texture to the painting which is not very evident in this photo. The dark background adds drama. The park spawned an admiration for a genre of flowers for which I had no previous experience. More to love.
